Travis Zajac Team Canada?
I know its a little late but is there a reason that Travis Zajac wasn't on Team Canada, or even considered. I never herd his name in any possibilities. I don't understand he is a 60-70 pt player and is a good defensive player. I think that he is more skilled than players like Mike Richards. Im not saying that he should have been on Team Canada i just think he should have been considered. Personally, I think Pittsburgh-Ottawa ended weirdly, New Jersey-Washington was a blowout, So was the Chicago series, for the Washington series, Montreal won game 1, then lost the next 4, Ottawa won game 4 then lost game 5, and Chicago won game 2, then lost 3 straight.

(I have to keep Ruutu and Boynton (and a slew of others) in the “minors” to keep my team under the salary cap. But if a high paying player gets the flu, then I can put some of these good replacements in).
I picked up Nash, Chara, and Luongo, after the draft was completed, and some teams (i guess) had to dump these three into the F/A pool, probably because of their salaries. Giguere, DiPietro, and Turco were also available, and Hossa, Spezza, and Heatley were available, and maybe one or two similar calibre players.
this is not for a fantasy team from the respect that it's based off real world stats. rather, this is for a video game (NHL 09) where one of the features is that you can play a season (or dynasty) by doing a fantasy draft; meaning that ALL nhl players are dumped into a draft, and then teams are chosen in a serpentine pattern.
so I actually got the 30th pick in the 1st round (took Niittymaki), and the 1st pick in the 2nd round (took Datsyuk); 30th pick in the 3rd, 1st pick in the 4th
any suggestions for which forwards should be on my 2 penalty killing teams? (4 total)?

Was getting Kovalchuck a good deal for the devils?
They're committed to a first line consisting of Zajac, Langenbrunner, and Parise, so being one of the best players in the NHL, he won't even be on there first line which is majorly disappointing. On a possibly threatening 2nd line, I can only see him playing with Elias, Rolston or Zubrus (2 of those 3) and then that leaves an extra player out of those 3 that would have to play on a checking line, which could possibly be a small threat with Mccamond playing good lately and Clarkson coming back from injury though. Still I'm skeptical about this trade since he's played the last 2 games and hasn't made a major impact or seemed to be forming chemistry with anyone. Plus, we've given up 3 goals in the last 2 games with one of the best goalies in the history of the game, which clearly shows we need a more improved defense. We might have won 1 of those 2 games, but we needed a last second 3 goal comeback to pull it off. Also, he's used to playing on a team where he was the only scoring threat and used to doing it by himself. Now, he's on a team that has learned to use all 21 guys on the roster to put the puck in the net. I don't know if this is a good thing for him or if now his scoring will decrease because of all the other talented guys on the roster. Whats your opinion on this deal for the Devils?Pytanie #16:

God damn it, Gustavvson only gets starts in friendly games vs 12 year old girl scouts otherwise Giggy in net until he retires!! GOD FRIG. Whens the next fckin raps games, gotta see a team win. Ahh its that time in October.... Hockey season.. Well my team the Devils are invading the Garden to play the Rangers. The Devils are coming in with a 3-0 record away. They beat a Caps team that had a 2 goal lead in the 3rd and lost it to a packed Verizon Center. If the Devils can win there they can certainly win at MSG. Marty is going for the shutout record tonight. Which is not going to happen.... Obviously the rivalry will begin with a boom. Avery will be involved as you would know by know. I understand that he is a restricted free agent and the devils are definitely resigning him, but how long do you think they are going to lock him up for. I believe he is worth 3.5 per year, but Lou is probably going to lock him up for 3-4 years at 2.5-3 per. I think that he and Parise are our future.Pytanie #35:
Does anyone see Zach Parise leaving the Devils?
The quotes he made on nj.com were " We are tired of losing". I am friggin scared now beacuse if he leaves the Devils what goal scoring would we have. I know we have Elias, Langenbrunner, Zajac, Rolston, etc. But to lose Parise would be devastating. I don't want to believe he isn't going anywhere but I did the exact same thing with Gomez. Barring the no trade clauses and supposing any trade or transaction would be accepted by both parties, what moves would you make with the current roster? What moves would you make to the management? Coaching? Scouting? Are there any players you want to see kick the bucket on their career? Any untouchables (ones that you want to see stay as a Maple Leaf)?Here's what I would do...
1) Trade Tomas Kaberle and Nikolai Kulemin to Pittsburgh for Jordan Staal and a 2nd round pick in 09
2) Convince Cujo to retire and sign on as a goaltending coach in T.O.
3) Trade Alexei Ponikarovski, Nik Antropov, Jeremy Williams and Jamie Sifers to New Jersey for Travis Zajac, a second rounder and a third rounder rounder in 09
4) Try compiling a package of prospects or lower draft picks to move up in the 1st round of the draft (supposing we're not in the top 5)
5) Revamp the scouting staff in T.O. and expand our search for top prospects
6) Trade Pavel Kubina to New York Islanders for a second rounder in 09 and a fourth rounder in 09

Did you see any reason why the coach would've switched the lines, especially because I thought those lines were doing really well together. I've been a devils for 8 years now, and i've never seen them so good..ever. Maybe I don't remember the time they had stevens cause it was such a long time ago, but this teams for real. With clemmensen, they're one of the hottest teams. They got 4 productive lines which has been their problem throughout past seasons.
They got great goaltending depth now to!
